DISCOVER THE NATURAL POWER OF CELTIC SEA SALT

Hand-harvested from the salt ponds of Guérande on France's Brittany coast, using methods unchanged for centuries. Skilled salt farmers gather the crystals that form naturally on the clay pond floors — and it's that clay which gives Celtic salt its signature grey tint, its natural moisture, and its remarkable mineral content. Soft crystals that dissolve beautifully in cooking, with a sweet, mellow character quite unlike the harsh bite of table salt.

WHY IT'S DIFFERENT FROM TABLE SALT

Ordinary table salt is refined down to almost pure sodium chloride, then dosed with anti-caking agents to keep it pouring freely. Celtic sea salt skips all of that. Unrefined and unwashed, it keeps what the ocean put there: 84 trace minerals, including three different forms of magnesium, plus potassium and calcium in their natural balance.

WHAT IT BRINGS TO YOUR DAY

  • Electrolyte support: naturally contains sodium, magnesium, potassium and calcium — the minerals behind hydration, nerve signalling and muscle function.
  • Cellular hydration: a pinch in water is a long-standing natural alternative to commercial electrolyte drinks.
  • Better flavour, less salt: a rounder, mellower taste means you often reach for less of it.
  • Beyond the kitchen: a favourite for mineral baths and natural body scrubs.

WHICH SIZE AND GRIND IS RIGHT FOR ME?

It's the same salt throughout — choose by how you'll use it:

  • 400g Coarse — the traditional grind in our value size. Ideal for cooking, roasting and finishing.
  • 400g Fine Ground — the value size, ready to use straight from the pack for baking, seasoning and dissolving in drinks.
  • 250g Fine Ground — the same fine grind in a smaller pack, perfect if you're trying Celtic salt for the first time.
  • 150g Coarse Shaker — coarse salt in a ready-to-use table shaker, to keep within reach at mealtimes.

HOW TO USE IT

Use it exactly as you'd use any salt — cooking, seasoning, baking, fermenting. For hydration, dissolve a small pinch in a glass of water in the morning, or let a few grains melt on the tongue before drinking. Half to one teaspoon daily across your food suits most people.

Ingredients: 100% pure Celtic sea salt. Purity guaranteed, sustainably sourced.
Free from: Carbohydrates, dairy, preservatives, e-numbers, sugars and fats.

Celtic sea salt is still salt. If you have high blood pressure, kidney or heart conditions, please follow your doctor's guidance on sodium intake.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why is it grey and slightly damp?
That's the mark of the real thing. The grey comes from the mineral-rich clay of the Guérande salt ponds, and the natural moisture means it hasn't been kiln-dried or refined. Bone-white, bone-dry "sea salt" has usually lost its minerals along the way.

Coarse or fine ground — which should I choose?
Coarse is the traditional choice for cooking, roasting and finishing dishes. Fine ground is easier for baking, table seasoning and dissolving into water. Many customers keep both: coarse for the kitchen, the shaker for the table.

Celtic or Himalayan — which is better?
Both are unrefined and mineral-bearing, and both beat table salt. Celtic comes from living ocean water with a broader trace-mineral spread; Himalayan is mined from ancient deposits and known for its iron content. Many kitchens keep both — Celtic for cooking, pink for finishing.

Can I use the coarse salt in a grinder?
Celtic salt is naturally moist, so it can clump in a standard grinder. Either use it as-is, choose a grinder made for damp salt, or pick the fine ground or shaker instead.

Does it contain iodine?
Naturally occurring iodine in trace amounts — less than the iodine added to iodised table salt. If you rely on iodised salt for thyroid iodine, keep other sources in mind (fish, dairy, eggs) or chat to your doctor.
